1. Feb 11,  · What I like about this CD is that this is clearly how Steinman hears the music in his head, and it is operatic in scale. My favorite tracks here are the first several cuts (Bad for Good, Lost Boys, Stark Raving Love, Out of the Frying Pan), while there is a dropoff a bit towards the end. Surf's Up is a fairly crude, kind of obvious sex song/5().

After penning the songs for Meat Loaf 's massively successful Bat Out of Hell album, Jim Steinman decided to step into the spotlight himself when his singer's voice was too damaged to record a follow-up. The result was 's Bad for Good, an epic slab of operatic rock that is very much in the same vein of Meat Loaf 's work, but nowhere near as satisfying.5/

5. Sometimes Jim Steinman's vocals waver a bit, but on songs like Left in the Dark, this works better than Meat Loaf bombast anyway. I both this when it came out, with the two track EP, then again on CD, and finally this version which has all of the tracks in the correct order and does not delete the last spoken section at the end of Left in the Dark/5().

7. Bad for Good is a album by American songwriter Jim Steinman. Steinman wrote all of the songs and performed on most, although Rory Dodd contributed lead vocals on some tracks. The songs were originally intended to be recorded by Meat Loaf as a follow up to Bat Out of Hell, titled Renegade grantysilguaydyze.clapunpoipudedentdisksacpacaspimac.cor, Meat Loaf suffered vocal problems and was unable to sing.

8. Jun 16,  · “Bad For Good” ended up being the Meat Loaf album that never was. A trained singer as well, for the most part Steinman opted to do the lead vocals. He has a respectable tenor voice but many critics unfavorably and unfairly compared him to Meat Loaf and the album was subsequently overlooked (however it did get to #7 in the UK chart).
